Purav Shah

Vice President and Banker at J.P. Morgan 

Purav Shah is a Vice President and Banker in the East Bay office of J.P. Morgan Private Bank. Purav works closely with successful wealth creators across the Bay Area and Silicon Valley, including technology entrepreneurs, business owners, C- suite executives, financial professionals, family offices and members of the Asian- Indian community. He serves as their advocate to guide them through the complex financial opportunities afforded by significant wealth.

Purav’s experience as a founding member of a fintech startup has given him an insightful perspective on the value of strategic advice. He listens to each individual’s goals and ambitions, engaging with them to proactively manage their assets and liabilities throughout multiple economic cycles. Purav has found that the world is truly a global marketplace, and his international background enables him to present a diverse range of recommendations. A native of India, he connects easily with clients whose culture and beliefs he knows so well.

Over a nearly two-decade career in consulting and banking, Purav has focused on the sophisticated needs of ultra-high-net-worth clients. He began at Deloitte in New York before joining J.P. Morgan Private Bank in Global Investor Relations. Purav spent 10 years at UBS Private Wealth Management before becoming the Head of International Platform and Products at IIFL Wealth in Mumbai, India. Most recently, he was a founding member of startup Dezerv Investments Private Limited (dezerv.) before returning to the United States and J.P. Morgan.

Purav graduated from William & Mary’s Mason School of Business, receiving an M.B.A. in Finance and Marketing. Earlier, he earned a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from the University of Mumbai.

Extremely family-oriented people, Purav and his wife are happy to be raising their two children in such a beautiful setting. They strive to get the most out of California living and enjoy outdoor activities that span hiking and going to the beach. Purav is a big fan of American football, cricket and music.
