Global Head of Corporate Advisory at J.P. Morgan
Rama Variankaval serves as the global head of Corporate Advisory at J.P. Morgan, overseeing the Corporate Finance Advisory (CFA), M&A Structuring, Center for Carbon Transition (CCT), Sustainable Solutions, and Infrastructure Finance Advisory (IFA) teams. The CFA team supports clients across various industries with capital allocation, shareholder value enhancement strategies, capital structure optimization, and a range of corporate and structured finance matters. The M&A Structuring team assists clients in designing transactions to achieve the best possible economic results. CCT spearheads the firm’s climate strategy initiatives related to client-facing businesses, while both the CCT and Sustainable Solutions teams guide clients through their transition to a low-carbon future and the complex Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) challenges companies face today. The IFA team focuses on structuring and executing infrastructure projects worldwide. Rama is also a member of the Investment Bank’s management committee.
Beyond these duties, Rama leads the Corporate and Investment Bank’s ESG forum and serves on the Firmwide Environmental Committee.
Rama earned a BS in Civil Engineering from the National Institute of Technology in India, an MS in Structural Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and an MS in Statistics and Operations Research from New York University. He began his career at J.P. Morgan in 2003.
