Amit Jani, Asian American Pacific Islander Outreach, New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy

Amit Jani currently serves in the Administration of Governor Phil Murphy, primarily focusing on transportation issues and outreach to the Asian American Pacific Islander communities. He is also the President of the New Jersey Leadership Program, a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization committed to engaging South Asian youth to government and politics. He has previously worked as the Director of Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Outreach for the Phil Murphy Gubernatorial Campaign, Bob Menendez for U.S. Senate, and the New Jersey Democratic State Party. He has also served as a Congressional Aide to Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr., Congresswoman Judy Chu and the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus (CAPAC), as well as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the New Jersey Department of Transportation. Amit is a Board Member for the Hudson County Schools of Technology in New Jersey and serves on the boards of several national organizations, including South Asians For America, Act to Change, and the New Leaders Council. He hosts a podcast called “Politics and Spice,” featuring prominent South Asian leaders across government, politics, business, nonprofit and advocacy; and is also a contributing writer for the Huffington Post. Amit is a proud native and resident of Jersey City, New Jersey.
