Amitabha Bose

Amitabha Bose serves as Chief Counsel at the Federal Railroad Administration (FRA). In this role, he helps provide legal advice and guidance to the FRA. In addition, he assists in coordinating FRA’s legislative efforts, regulatory program, and involvement in legal proceedings. He has also served as Senior Advisor at the FRA and Associate General Counsel at the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). In his previous role as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Governmental Affairs, he assisted with handling DOT’s relationships with Congress. He worked for the New Jersey Department of Transportation and on Capitol Hill in both the House and Senate. In private practice in Georgia, he focused on land use, environmental and municipal law. He has been a board member of the Indian American Leadership Initiative and Red Clay Democrats. He has an AB from Columbia College, a MIA from the School of International and Public Affairs at Columbia University, and a JD from the University of Georgia.
