Anand Govindaluri, Founder, Executive Director, and CEO Govin Capital

Dr Anand serves as Chairman of Govin Holdings, Singapore-headquartered company with a focus on Pharmaceuticals, Startup Entrepreneurship & Life Sciences Investments. He is also the Founder of Govin Capital, an early-stage investment firm in digital health and edtech. He has 22 years of active investment management experience with more than 65 investments, 20 failures, 25 successful exits including 2 Unicorn exits across biotech, medtech, pharmaceuticals and edtech.

Prior to GOVIN, Anand served as the Senior Vice President & Head of the Investment & Spin-Off Management Division at A*ccelerate Technologies, Commercialisation arm of Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore for 3 years and a member of the Direct Investments Life Sciences team at Temasek Holdings, Singapore for 8 years. Dr Anand co-led several Biopharma and medtech investments at Temasek Holdings across the value-chain from lead sourcing, conducting due-diligence, serving on Boards of companies, and managing exits of investee companies.

Dr Anand serves on the Advisory Board at Eon Reality Inc (USA), ASPIRE-BioNest (India), Avishkaran-IPER (India), IIM Kashipur FIED (India), Right Walk Foundation (India) and a consultant to Tata Elxsi (India). Dr Anand is a member of Singapore-India Chambers of Commerce, Singapore Business Federation, Charter Member of TiE Singapore for several years. Dr Anand served as Mentor for Startups at MIT-COVID-19 Hackathon (2020), President of Federation of Asian Biotech Associations (2019-2021); Advisory Board member (Biomedical Sciences) of the Singapore-MIT Alliance for Research & Technology (SMART), Singapore (2011-2015), Kalam Centre (India), Investor Judge for Ideas Inc, Nanyang Technopreneurship Centre, NTU, Lee Kuan Yew Business Plan Competition organised by Singapore Management University (SMU), Startup Singapore & Startup Chile. He also served as a Panel speaker of UNESCO MGIEP’s International Conference in Education (2017).

Dr Anand is a recipient of Asia-Pacific Innovative Education Leadership Award (2019), Dr A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Award for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (2016), NUS Post-Graduate Research Scholarship (1997), GATE Fellow (1995) & Department of Biotechnology (DBT)-Merit Scholarship (1993). During the pandemic, Dr Anand, stepped up philanthropic efforts to supply Oxygen ventilators, Medical-grade PPEs and Complex ICU drugs for COVID-19 management across Singapore and India. Dr Anand is an active donor at National Cancer Institute of Singapore (NCIS) and at Singapore-Indian Development Association (SINDA).
