Senator Jay Chaudhuri represents parts of Raleigh, Cary, and Morrisville. As one of the newest and youngest members of the State Senate, Senator Chaudhuri has expanded computer science education in public schools and helped fund $1.2 million to create an Alzheimer’s Disease Registry. He also played a vital role in recruiting global IT company Infosys to Wake County to create 2,000 jobs, one of the largest job announcements in the state’s history. Prior to serving in the Senate, Senator Chaudhuri served as senior counsel to former Attorney General (now Governor) Roy Cooper and former State Treasurer Janet Cowell. He also served as Chair of the Council of Institutional Investors, an association of more than $3 trillion that serves as the leading voice for effective corporate governance and shareholder rights.
