Associate Professor and Chair, International Studies Department, University of San Francisco

John Zarobell is Associate Professor and Department Chair of International Studies at the University of San Francisco. Formerly, he held the positions of assistant curator at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and associate curator at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He is a contributor to Artsy, Art Practical and the San Francisco Art Quarterly and he has written for numerous exhibition catalogues and has curated exhibitions of modern and contemporary art including Manet and the Sea (2003), Frida Kahlo (2008), New Work: Ranjani Shettar (2009), Art in the Atrium: Kerry James Marshall (2009) and Indigenous Contemporary (2015). His first book, Empire of Landscape and was published in 2010 and his next, Art and the Global Economy, was published with University of California Press in April 2017.
