Kris Gopalkrishnan

Kris served as the executive vice chairman (former co-chairman) and one of the seven founders of Infosys, a global consulting and IT services company based in India. His initial years at Infosys, beginning in 1981, included management of design, development, implementation and support of information systems for clients in the U.S. consumer products industry. From June 2007 until August 2011, he served as the CEO and Managing Director of Infosys, managing Customer Services, Technology, Investments and Acquisitions responsibilities; he doubled Infosys’ topline to $6 billion. Since 2013, he has been the President of CII, and in 2015, founded Axilor Ventures, a venture capital platform for young entrepreneurs. He also serves as a Director on the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation. The government of India has awarded him with the Padma Bhushan, India’s third highest civilian honor, in 2011. Kris obtained a Master’s in Physics in 1977 and a master’s in computer science in 1979, both from IIT, Madras.
