Madhu Nataraj, Founder and Director of Stem Dance Kampni

Madhu Nataraj dons many hats with grace and dynamism. Often called an intersectionist, she believes in the cross illumination between various fields and thought processes, fueling her vision to inhabit the public domain through the potent medium of Dance. Education, Climate change, Healing,  Empowerment and more, form a powerful undercurrent in all her interactions. 

A graduate of Commerce, Journalism and Choreography, she trained in Kathak under the tutelage of her mother, the legendary Guru – Dr Maya Rao, with Guru Chitra Venugopal and studied Contemporary dance in New York. She founded  STEM (Space. Time. Energy. Movement) Dance Kampni and heads the renowned Natya Institute of Kathak & Choreography, comprising verticals of training, performance and outreach.India Today’ chose Madhu as one among India’s 50 Young Achievers.

 She is a recipient of ‘Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar’ from Sangeet Natak Akademi, Government of India,  State Government tilte “Karnataka Kalashree”, the FICCI  Flo Women’s achievers award,  to mention a few of her accolades. She is an Ananta Aspen Global Leadership Network Fellow. Madhu is a panelist at important Cultural, philanthropic, corporate and academic organizations and has performed in and traveled to over 50 countries.
