Meera Nair

Meera Nair is the author of Video (NY: Pantheon 2003) and a middle-grade book called Maya Saves the Day (Duckbill Publishing, 2013). Video received the Sixth Annual Asian-American Literary Award for Fiction and was named a Best Book of the Year by The Washington Post. A recipient of fellowships from the New York Foundation for the Arts, Queens Council for the Arts, New York Times and MacDowell Colony, her work has appeared on National Public Radio’s Selected Shorts, the Washington Post, the New York Times magazine, The Threepenny Review and in several anthologies, as well as in national publications in India such as The Hindu, Scroll.in and Mid-day. She was the Fiction Writer in Residence at Fordham University from 2011-2014 and teaches writing at NYU and Brooklyn College in New York City.
