Kris Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of Axilor Ventures and Co-Founder of Infosys Ltd

Mr. Gopoalakrishnan is the Chairman of Axilor; founder of Ventures; Co-founder of Infosys; Chairman of council for the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore; Chairman of the Governing Board for IIIT Bangalore; Chairman of RBI Innovation Hub; Past President of CII; and philanthropist.

From 2007 to 2011, he served as Infosys’ Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director. From 2011 to 2014, he served as the company’s Vice Chairman. Kris is one of Infosys’ co-founders.

He was selected as the top CEO (IT services category) in Institutional Investor’s first ranking of Asia’s Top Executives because he is regarded as a global business and technology thought leader. In 2011, Corporate Governance Asia chose him as one of the honourees for the second Asian Corporate Director Recognition Awards. Kris was also chosen for 2009’s Thinkers 50, an exclusive group of influential thinkers in the world of business.

He was appointed one of the co-chairs of the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2014 after being voted President of India’s premier business organization, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), for the 2013–14 year. The third-highest civilian accolade in India, the Padma Bhushan, was given to Kris in January 2011.

Both the Indian Institute of Technology in Madras and the Indian Institute of Management in Bangalore have him on their boards of governors. In addition to serving on the board of trustees at the Chennai Mathematical Institute, he chairs the board of governors at IIIT, Bangalore.
