Congressman Krishnamoorthi serves in the US Congress for Illinois’ 8th U.S. Congressional District. He won the Democratic primary election with almost sixty percent of the vote against two elected officials in record voter turnout. He previously served as the President of Sivananthan Laboratories, a small business that develops and sells products in national security and renewable energy. He is co-founder of InSPIRE, a non-profit organization that trains Illinois students and veterans in solar technology. Raja previously served as Deputy Treasurer of Illinois, and in 2006 he was appointed by Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan as a founding prosecutor in her anti-corruption unit. Raja also served as a member of the Illinois Housing Development Authority where he was Chairman of the Audit Committee. He also served as the Vice-Chair of the Illinois Innovation Council.
