Rhonda S. Binda is Co-Founder of smart cities technology platform Venture Smarter and Executive Director of the Smart Regions Initiatives. She previously served as Deputy Director at the U.S. Department of State and in the West Wing of the White House. In between her government tours she practiced telecommunications law with Alston & Bird LLP. Ms. Binda most recently returned to Queens, NY and served as the Director of the Jamaica Business District. Under her tenure, they earned Governor Cuomo’s #1 award for downtown revitalization, was named #1 hottest neighborhood in New York by the Wall Street Journal and won NYC’s Neighborhood Challenge Grant. Ms. Binda was named Business Leader of the Year and Community Leader of the Year in Queens. She attended Duke and Oxford Universities and Georgetown Law. Ms. Binda also teaches Administrative Law and Administration of Global Institutions at The City University of New York.
