Rina Patel is a Policy staffer for Senator Claire McCaskill on the Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. Prior to this, she worked for Dr. Jill Biden’s free community college movement. Rina was also selected by the United Nations to receive full funding to attend the UN’s 60th Comission on the Status of Women at the UN in New York, and since then has continued to serve as a United Nations Association human rights representative, traveling to Geneva in 2016 to collaborate with young leaders on designing and implementing human rights projects in their home countries.
She graduated from Bryn Mawr College, where she discovered a passion for creative solutions through policy and planning to address the world’s challenges. The highlight of her undergraduate experience was collaborating with Comcast Chief Sustainability Officer, Susan Jin Davis, one of the only Asian American women in such role, during an independent study she shaped during her final semester. Her academics included studying cities and their communities in Germany, Brazil, South Africa and India.
