Srinivas Aravamudan

Srinivas Aravamudan is former Dean of Humanities at Duke University. He is the author of Tropicopolitans (Duke UP, 1999; MLA first book prize) and Guru English (Princeton UP, 2006). His most recent book, Enlightenment Orientalism (University of Chicago P, 2012), has won the Oscar Kenshur Prize (Center for 18c Studies at Indiana U) and the George and Barbara Perkins Prize (Best Study of Narrative for 2012 from the International Society for the Study of Narrative). His current research is on how theories of the Anthropocene are revising the Enlightenment catachronistically.
