Thiru Vignarajah is a partner at DLA Piper in Baltimore and previously served as Deputy Attorney General of Maryland. A native of Baltimore, Thiru studied philosophy and political science at Yale University and worked at McKinsey & Co., focusing on health care and international development in Africa and India. He subsequently attended Harvard Law School, where he was President of the Harvard Law Review. He clerked for Judge Guido Calabresi on the Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and Justice Stephen Breyer on the U.S. Supreme Court. He then served as a federal and city prosecutor in Baltimore before being named Deputy Attorney General. Thiru has also taught constitutional law and crime policy at Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland Law School, where he has repeatedly received the award for outstanding professor of the year.
