Yuven Sundaramoorthy, Professional Race Car Driver

Yuven Sundaramoorthy is a 19-year-old professional driver aiming to become the first driver of Indian descent to race in the Indycar series and the INDY 500. He’s currently racing for Exclusive Autosport in the Indy Pro 2000 Championship. There is only one level between Yuven and reaching IndyCar. From 2017-2018, he competed in the F1600 Series, securing five wins, three poles and 20 podiums. Prior to Formula cars, Yuven was karting competitively for three years and is now considered one of the best up-and-comers in the Road to Indy ladder.

He kicked off the 2021 USF2000 season with a pole and a win at Barber Motorsports Park, and won 2 races at the Indy Grand Prix (Indycar article). Yuven closed out the season third in the Championship, raking in 4 wins, 4 poles and 9 podiums. In his first season in Indy Pro 2000, he had three podiums and ten top-ten finishes.

During the 2019-2020 off-season, Yuven participated in India’s MRF Challenge Series, bringing home 2 wins and 4 podiums in the F2000 class (MRF article).

Born in Wisconsin, Yuven grew up in China and Upstate New York before returning to Wisconsin. In addition to racing, he participates in Formula SAE, robotics competitions, and is an avid snowboarder. He is currently a Junior at the University of Wisconsin, studying Computer Sciences.
