Sanjiv Puri is the Chairman and Managing Director of ITC Limited, one of India’s largest diversified conglomerates with interests in FMCG, hotels, paperboards, packaging, and agri-business.  Puri is an alumnus of the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Kanpur, where he completed his engineering degree. He later pursued advanced management education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, one of the world’s top business schools, which provided him with a strong foundation in strategic business leadership.

Puri joined ITC in January 1986 and has spent nearly four decades with the company, systematically rising through various leadership positions. His extensive experience spans multiple business segments including manufacturing, operations, information technology, and digital transformation initiatives. Under his leadership, ITC has continued its diversification strategy beyond its traditional tobacco business, significantly expanding into FMCG, hotels, paperboards, and packaging sectors. Puri’s leadership philosophy centers on consumer-centricity, innovation, and sustainability.

He believes in leveraging science and technology to turn challenges into opportunities, aiming to create long-term value for stakeholders.
