Philanthropy
Empowering the diaspora giving ecosystem
Indiaspora’s philanthropy works to bolster the ecosystem as a whole. We have worked with partner organizations to create reports on the latest research on diaspora philanthropic giving. The Indiaspora-Dalberg’s Indian American Community Engagement Survey, the first of its kind, found that Indian Americans volunteer at nearly double the national average but give substantially less financially, ultimately leaving significant social impact on the table.
Our work contributes to the framework of philanthropy to accelerate diaspora giving and encourage systemic engagement across multiple avenues of implementation.
India Philanthropy Alliance (IPA)
We’re also proud partners in the India Philanthropy Alliance (IPA), a coalition that has grown from 11 organizations in 2019 to more than two dozen today, working together to grow and coordinate giving to India; together raising over $5.5 million in a single day during India Giving Day 2024.
Philanthropy Summit
Each year, we bring this community of partners together at our Philanthropy Summit — an action-oriented convening where funders, nonprofits, and diaspora leaders tackle shared priorities, from corporate social responsibility to arts education to climate-focused giving. We’ve partnered with Give India and Dasra in previous years for the Summit.
Global Connect
Bridging gaps around the world
Indiaspora is dedicated to bridging gaps around the world between people of Indian origin.
Core Countries
Indiaspora works closely in the US, India, the UK, Singapore, and Australia, and is active in the UAE following the Indiaspora Forum for Good in 2025.
Building Partnerships
Indiaspora is creating partnerships in additional diaspora countries through delegations, Global Connect events, and government engagements.

Entrepreneurship and Innovation
Indiaspora fosters entrepreneurship and innovation both internally and by highlighting members of influence doing the same for their own companies and communities, engaging entrepreneurs, industrialists, and policymakers on opportunities for collaboration.
