The Indiaspora Inaugural Ball 2013 served as a platform to highlight the growing influence and contributions of the Indian American community in the United States. We had 1,300 Indian American attendees from across the country, which caught the attention and admiration of American politicians. The event drew attendance from prominent figures such as Maya Soetoro-Ng (President Obama’s half-sister), Congressman Ami Bera (the third Indian-American lawmaker in Congress), Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard (the first Hindu lawmaker), and Kamala Harris (California’s Attorney General).
