Deepak Chopra is the Founder/CEO of the charity: Freedom Employability Academy (FEA), among the largest individually funded charities in India.
Deepak’s lifelong mission is to help disadvantaged youth bootstrap themselves out of a cycle of poverty, lead a productive self-reliant life of dignity and go beyond to contribute to the greater good.
FEA runs an innovative employability competency program that teaches personal skills (self-confidence, drive, persistence, adaptability, ethics, etc.) FEA also offers English language skills and digital literacy to make young adults effective in the workplace, providing a path to lifelong learning and growth. This is a free intensive one-year program with over 500 hours of in-classroom instruction. FEA does not charge a fee and does not accept any remuneration from students or their families.
FEA employs about 2,000 professional teachers, managers, IT and other personnel and 75,000 + young adults attend FEA’s daily classes. FEA operates 1,000+ physical training centers in North India.
Researchers from Stanford University conducted a large-scale impact evaluation and found that by completing the FEA 1 year program on average students will add Rs. 53 Lacs (5.3 Million) to their career income. This is moving from low income to middle income.
Deepak holds a B. Tech degree in chemical engineering from IIT Delhi. He has founded or cofounded multiple companies, including the unicorn – Quten Research Institute.
Deepak has gently explained to his family that people fortunate enough to receive a good education should not have their creativity and resourcefulness handicapped by an inheritance. 100% of his assets will be used only to help the disadvantaged and the poor through FEA.
