Priyavrata Mafatlal
Priyavrata Mafatlal (Pri-yuh-vrat Mafat-lal, !”य$त माफतलाल) represents a new generation of Indian industrial leadership, one that honours legacy while building for the future. As Vice Chairman of the Arvind Mafatlal Group, he is helping shape one of India’s oldest and most enduring diversified enterprises for a rapidly evolving world.
As Managing Director and CEO of the 121-year-old Mafatlal Industries Limited, Priyavrata has played a key role in transforming the company from a traditional textile enterprise into a diversified institution. While strengthening its operational and financial foundations, he has expanded its presence across healthcare, technology, education, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure. Since joining the Arvind Mafatlal Group in 2008, Priyavrata has guided the group through a phase of
strategic diversification, building on its manufacturing legacy while expanding into sectors aligned with India’s evolving economic priorities. Today, the group has a strong presence across textiles, healthcare and hygiene, technology, EdTech, renewable energy, and digital infrastructure, while continuing to invest in businesses that support long-term industrial growth.
Beyond his leadership at Mafatlal Industries, Priyavrata founded Vrata Tech Solutions, a technology solutions company focused on enterprise digital transformation, and Get Set Learn, a 21st century skills platform helping students integrate future skills and experiential learning. Priyavrata’s vision extends beyond business. As Co-Chair of the Indivar Foundation, he is helping build a platform dedicated to expanding opportunities for girls, strengthening rural communities, and improving access to education and healthcare. The Foundation reflects a simple belief that lasting institutions should create value beyond business.
A Harvard Business School alumnus, Priyavrata has been recognised with the Times Now Most Promising Business Leaders of Asia 2025–26 recognition and the Hurun India Avendus Wealth U40 Award. He represents a leadership philosophy rooted in institutional stewardship, innovation, and long-term value creation.
