Dr. Mukesh Prasad is an otolaryngologist at Weill Cornell Medicine and the Founder and Co-Managing Partner of Innova Capital Partners, a New York-based investment firm focused on energy infrastructure, digital infrastructure, healthcare, and emerging technologies.
At Weill Cornell Medicine, Dr. Prasad serves as Associate Professor of Clinical Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery. He completed his undergraduate studies at Harvard College and received his MD from the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, followed by residency training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Through Innova Capital Partners, Dr. Prasad works with founders and investors to help build and scale companies across sectors, including energy systems, telecommunications, healthcare innovation, and financial technology. Innova has been particularly active in investments related to energy infrastructure, grid resilience, AI-optimized data centers, and next-generation power systems, working with partners across North America, Europe, and emerging markets.
Dr. Prasad is active in public service and policy. He has served as a Special Advisor to the U.S. Department of Commerce on technology policy and participates in advisory roles related to economic development and energy transition.
Beyond medicine and investing, Dr. Prasad has held a range of national and international leadership roles. He is a member of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace Geopolitical Advisory Committee, a Life Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and serves on the Advisory Board of the Boston University Institute for Global Sustainability. He has also been active at Harvard University, serving two terms on the Harvard Alumni Association Board of Directors, as Vice President of the Harvard Asian American Alumni Alliance, and as Alumni Director on the Harvard South Asia Institute Advisory Council.
Dr. Prasad has long been engaged in public service. He was recognized by the City of New York for his role in caring for first responders and is an honorary member of both the FDNY and NYPD, one of a small number of surgeons to have received shields from both departments. During the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, he served as an advisor to New York City on early response planning. In 2024, he was honored by the Mayor of New York City with a Citation recognizing more than twenty years of service.
Dr. Prasad lives in New York City with his wife of thirty years. They have two children.
