Manohar Paluri is an AI and technology leader currently embarking on his next chapter in the field of artificial intelligence. Until September 2026, he served as a Vice President at Meta, where he spent more than 14 years progressing from an intern to executive leadership and helped build AI systems that reached billions of people. In his final role, he worked across multimodal intelligence, generative AI, and foundation-model efforts.
Manohar began his career in computer vision, with a focus on enabling machines to see and understand the world. Over time, his work expanded into multimodal AI and large-scale artificial intelligence systems. Before joining Meta, he worked with Google, IBM Watson Labs, and Sarnoff Corporation, and pursued graduate research at Georgia Tech. He holds a B.Tech. in Computer Science from IIIT Hyderabad and a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech.
Beyond his work in technology, Manohar is deeply engaged in philanthropy, mentorship, and community building. Together with his wife, Ashwini Gadekarla, he runs the Paluri Foundation, which supports education and opportunities for future generations. The Foundation has pledged significant support to IIIT Hyderabad, including a ₹1 crore commitment toward the Institute’s academic infrastructure. He has also played an active role in mentoring students and connecting IIIT Hyderabad alumni with opportunities in technology and entrepreneurship.
Manohar describes his next chapter as a continuation of his long-standing interest in using AI not only to help machines see and understand the world, but ultimately to help discover things about the world that we do not yet know.
