Gary was appointed CEO of CNO Financial Group in 2018 after previously serving as president of the company. Under his leadership, CNO announced a new operating model that realigns the company from three operating business segments into two divisions to create a leaner, more integrated, customer-centric organization. Gary’s career in the insurance industry runs long. Prior to joining CNO, Gary was CEO of the Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America. He also served as a member of the board of Management of Allianz SE and chairman of Allianz America. Gary has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Illinois and an MBA from the University of Chicago.

CNO has established its own “Invested in Giving Back” program, in which eight different nonprofit organizations received corporate donations amounting to $160,000 total. In 2019, about $2.3 million-worth of philanthropic efforts was carried out by the company and more than  10,000 hours of community service was carried out by CNO associates.
