Vision-Aid: Enabling, Educating and Empowering India’s Visually Impaired

November 17, 2025

India is home to more than 20% of the world’s population with severe visual challenges and the largest number of blind children in any one country.

Imagine being able to empower the visually challenged and fully blind to read in 50 local Indian languages with the power of AI; helping youth secure positions at top 500 corporations or giving a new lease on life to little children afflicted with the most debilitating Cortical Cerebral Visual Impairment (CVI) problems where their brain cannot properly interpret the visual signals. This is the kind of transformative impact Vision-Aid is making over 75 locations across India.

As a nonprofit organization committed to a mission of “Enable, Educate, and Empower the Visually Impaired,” for the past twenty years, our dedicated team of professionals—from ophthalmology, optometry, computer science, teaching, and the arts—have already transformed innumerable lives across India through our award-winning computer and communications programs and partner networks that include India’s 20 leading Eye Hospitals, and over 50 Blind Schools and Community Organizations.

Our innovative AI Smart Vision Glasses, that have revolutionized accessibility for the blind, were awarded the “2024 Choice Award for Best Assistive Technology” at Bengaluru Tech Summit 2024, winning over 2,500 entries from 15+ countries. AI SVG had previously won First Prize at the prestigious Infosys Foundation Innovation Awards in 2023.

We provide tailored education and individualized mentoring that significantly enhances literacy and employability, leading many to secure positions in prestigious multi-national companies through our 12 specially designed educational programs and breakthrough STEM Tactile Books, innovated by IIT Delhi and Non-Profit Raised Line Foundation.

As we look to the future, our goal is to engage and inspire more eminent Hospitals, Corporations, Government and Community Services organizations to join us in reaching many more underserved remote areas and deliver individualized assistive tools and education to over 250,000 underprivileged individuals in the next three years.

We invite you to join us on the mission of bringing independence, dignity and opportunities to the underprivileged individuals with visual challenges. Please visit Visionaid.Org for further information. “Click to Donate” presents several options to help ranging from $30.00 – to $50,000.
