Salim Ramji is the CEO of Vanguard, taking the helm in Summer 2024. Ramji, previously a senior executive at BlackRock, served as the Global Head of iShares and Index Investments and was a member of BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee. He has been instrumental in expanding investment access through ETFs and implementing innovative technologies in the bond market.

Ramji holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and politics from the University of Toronto and an M.A. in law from Cambridge University. He is also a CFA charterholder.Earlier in his career, Ramji was a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he led the firm’s Asset & Wealth Management Practice. He also started his professional journey as a lawyer at Clifford Chance in London and Hong Kong.

Ramji’s leadership philosophy centers on democratizing investment and promoting financial inclusion. His vision for Vanguard includes expanding its client base and enhancing its global footprint, particularly in low-cost investing and financial advisory services.
