Salim Ramji is the CEO of Vanguard, taking the helm in Summer 2024. Ramji, previously a senior executive at BlackRock, served as the Global Head of iShares and Index Investments and was a member of BlackRock’s Global Executive Committee. He has been instrumental in expanding investment access through ETFs and implementing innovative technologies in the bond market.
Ramji holds a bachelor’s degree in economics and politics from the University of Toronto and an M.A. in law from Cambridge University. He is also a CFA charterholder.Earlier in his career, Ramji was a Senior Partner at McKinsey & Company, where he led the firm’s Asset & Wealth Management Practice. He also started his professional journey as a lawyer at Clifford Chance in London and Hong Kong.
