Sumit Roy is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Realty Income Corporation, a position he has held since October 2018. He also serves on the company’s Board of Directors. Roy’s tenure at Realty Income began in 2011, and he has progressively taken on more senior roles, including Chief Investment Officer (2013-2014), Chief Operating Officer (2014-2018), and President (since 2015). In his role as COO, he oversaw various critical operations, including acquisitions, dispositions, asset management, and information technology.

Before joining Realty Income, Roy had a significant career in investment banking. He was an Executive Director at UBS Investment Bank for seven years, where he was responsible for over $57 billion in real estate capital markets and advisory transactions. His experience also includes working in investment banking at Merrill Lynch and as a Principal in technology consulting at Cap Gemini.

Sumit Roy holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Computer Science, and an MBA in Finance and Economics from the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. He is also a member of the Executive Board and Governance Committee for the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts (Nareit) and serves as an independent member of Ventas, Inc.’s Board of Directors.
